There’s no such thing as a little in love…
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust…
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as…
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along…

Rating~ 4-4.5 stars

This might be my favourite of the series, it has a bit different style to the rest of the books in the series. Maybe it was because of who Archer Hunt was a person; he was different that other heroes I’ve read from Jill Shalvis more rough and alpha or the suspense/side plot but either way it made me enjoy the book a lot more.

We met Elle Wheaten and Archer Hunt in Sweet white lies. Elle is the new addition to the group but not to Archer. Elle and Archer have a past and a connection that goes past years. We see them fighting and arguing and just their general behaviour which tells everyone near them that they like each other in the other books in the series. Though they both happen to be slightly oblivious to that especially Elle.

Elle Wheaton has a had a very difficult life but now after years of hard work and thanks to Archer she has finally managed to make something of herself. She along with her job as a manager sometimes helps Archer with his investigations.  She likes to present this prefect, impenetrable exterior to the world and hates the fact that Archer ever saw her when she was vulnerable. Elle has been unsuccessfully trying to move on from Archer and finally decides that maybe dating other people will help.

Archer Hunt used to be a policeman and is now a owner of a very successful investigation agency. Keeping Elle close but not close enough is extremely difficult for Archer. And as far as he is concerned no one is good enough for Elle, least of all him and hence goes on his way to sabotaging her dates. Nothing makes his feelings rise up as seeing Elle with another man.

With Elle and Archer’s past, it makes it difficult for them to actually make a move even when they are both extremely attracted to each other and have feelings that are just not going away. They are both very likeable and very stubborn and characters with very big personalities. I loved their banter, they had a very strong and sparking chemistry add in some sweetness and caring they showed for each other equals me being a happy reader. I loved seeing them go head to head and then later see them caring for each other. This book made me laugh and breath a happy dreamy sigh.

Quibbles: Cause when don’t I have them?? I really didn’t like Elle’s sister. I really disliked her behaviour because of the way it hurt Elle and to an extension Archer.

A fantastic addition to a great series with a wonderful cast of characters and a great plot and with a couple that just belong together!
