Setting the Mood to Write – Terry Spear  Sometimes, I’ll write without any music or sound whatsoever. But lately, I’ve been listening to music scores. It feels like I’m writing movie scenes then, with the music providing the rich, cinematic backdrop. With that said, my favorite music can be anything fantasy and thriller or adventure-related. Slow or whimsical pieces don’t work. It doesn’t have the right tempo or tone then. For the most part, no vocals, just instrumentals, though some of my soundtracks have vocals in a different language and that’s fine. As long as I don’t recognize words and type them into my […]

Blog Tour and giveaway: The Beauty Of Us by Kristen Proby

The Beauty Of Us by Kristen Proby releases 22nd August! ~TREVOR~ “Hi.” I offer her a smile and motion for her to join me. She sits, sets her iPad aside, and squares her shoulders. I love a woman with grit. “Why are you here?” she asks. “I’m having lunch,” I reply, and gesture to the salad sitting in front of me. “It’s delicious. Adding the brussels sprouts is smart.” “I’ll pass that along to Mia,” she says, and then laughs. “I guess you heard the part where I asked the girls to not swear.” “I did,” I reply, and patiently butter a piece of […]

He looked uncomfortable standing there, balancing on his skates, ready to spring for the door. But she knew he wouldn’t sit while she stood because his mother had raised him to respect women. Something fluttered in her chest at that notion. DuPre might be a lot of things—ladies’ man, good ol’ boy, thorn in her side—but she suspected he would never hurt someone weaker than himself. “You’ve got three minutes, Harper.” “Do you remember what I told you in Boston, DuPre?” “Somethin’ about needin’ me to instill leadership and help these boys get to the playoffs.” Warm honey flowed through her veins at the […]

Review: Blade by Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy

Review: Blade by Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy

Rating ~ 3.75 stars!  The new Bayou Heat novella tells the story of Blade, a suit that was previously taken captive by the Benson company and later used in their experiments to make super-soldiers. Previously, we see him being rescued and taken back to Wildlands to recover. While he would prefer not to talk and remember about his time as a captive, Blade remembers vividly of the human female who was impregnated by his sperm. Valli had come to Benson’s to be cured of the terminal disease she had, not realising that this would require blood from the panthera or that she would non-consensually […]

He’s not a douchebag; but that doesn’t stop his friends from turning him into one.   PRE – ORDER NOW Amazon | Amazon UK | iBooks | B&N | KOBO   He’s seated at a table in the far corner when I spot him from the door. He’s not hard to miss—not with his purple t-shirt in a sea of black and yellow, and wavy mussed hair. He’s slouching, hunched over his table. Defeated. Tired. My stomach rolls with nerves, nerves that have me rooted to the spot in the doorway, watching him. Just watching. For the entire four minutes I stand here, he […]

Q&A and Giveaway: Branded As Trouble by Delores Fossen

Q&A and Giveaway: Branded As Trouble by Delores Fossen

Describe your book in one sentence. Bad-boy cowboy, Roman Granger, finds love and redemption where he least expects it—in the arms of Mila Banchini, his good-girl opposite. What makes your two main characters, Roman and Mila, such a great match? Roman and Mila are opposites, but it’s the thing they have in common that make them a great match. They both love Roman’s son, Tate, and they’ve made the boy their top priority. What is your favorite character you’ve ever written? Roman Granger. Despite his being branded as trouble, he’s actually solid and decent. Plus, I love his dry sense of humor. What are […]

Excerpt and Giveaway: Tougher in Texas by Kari Lynn Dell

My Favorite Fictional Cowboys – For the Love of a Difficult Woman – Kari Lynn Dell I adore difficult women…and the cowboys who love them because of it, not in spite. You don’t get much more difficult than Shawnee Pickett in Tougher in Texas. And as Cole Jacobs learns, it only gets harder the closer you get to her. Under that brash, outrageous surface is one tough woman who’s gonna make you prove you deserve her…and that she deserves a happily ever after. My two favorite difficult movie women aren’t known for westerns. Laura San Giacomo starred in the sitcom Just Shoot Me, and as […]
