2016 Favourite Books

Here’s a list of my favourite books I read in 2016! With some honourable mentions at the bottom. Each of these is amazing and worth checking out.   Do you Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare. This was an amazing historical. I loved all the characters and the couple; Charlotte and Piers. Their story follows the investigation of an event at a party that charlotte is determined to solve. With the usual Tessa Dare humour and romance this was one was top historical this year! Amazon US | Amazon UK | Goodreads |my review      Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie This a […]

They spend an evening together, exchanging flirty banter and hot looks but the evening ends with Drew leaving when an urgent calls comes through. As usual with Lauren Blakley, the couple had good chemistry, banter and some sweet moments’.  They were both […]

Review: Steadfast by Sarina Bowen

Review: Steadfast by Sarina Bowen

So its three for three for me with Sarina Bowen (I read the books out of order though they can be read as standalones). Though all the books I have read from Sarina Bowen have dealt with different issues and have completely different character types and plot what doesn’t change is the pretty great writing, the ability of Sarina Bowen in making the characters come to life and their stories touching my heart. Jude Nickel‘s life changed when he crashed his car and ended up in prison for vehicular manslaughter and possession of drugs for 3 years. Now as a ex-con with no prospects […]

Q&A and Excerpt: One For The Rogue by Charis Micheals + Giveaway

Q&A with Charis Micheals Can you tell us a little about your book? Well, this is sort of a reverse My-Fair-Lady story.  The heroine is a young dowager duchess who has been trained since girlhood in manners and decorum. Through a series of hopeless circumstances, she is is charged with giving lessons on how to be “proper” to the roguish hero. He, however, has something else in mind for their instruction. The story revolves around the reluctant relationship that develops and their journey to love. Name three things on your desk right now. My Mrs. Daryl Dixon coffee mug, naturally. An old Dollywood brochure […]

Review: Drakon’s Promise by N.J. Walters

I’m always in search of books with dragon shifters so when I saw this, I knew I had to read it and since I have read some pnr books by N.J. walters previously I knew it would be good and it was.  I really liked the twist on the dragon lore, the crazy and creepy book and how drakon shifters came to be.  Sarah Anderson is a librarian who deals with antique books. Her gift of psychometry helps her date the books and find out if they are original copies. Working for her new […]

Review: The Trouble with Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis

Rating~ 3.75 stars I enjoyed this one! This makes for a good winter read especially with Christmas and hopeful vibe it has. I’ll start of by saying that it took me quite a few chapters to warm upto Willia (I actually think this might be the one heroine I didn’t instantly connect to by Jill Shalvis). I just felt what happened with Keane when she was younger was hurtful and painful to Willa but when I found what it was I was bit confused of why she made it seem like it such it was a huge and horrible thing . I didn’t understand this […]

Review: Dark Surrender by Rachel Van Dyken

Review: Dark Surrender by Rachel Van Dyken

I was quite looking forward to this release because Alex, I mean the guy is a male siren and he decides to volunteer so that his friend doesn’t have to because he wasn’t ready yet. Alex has been a very intriguing character from book 1 in the series so I really wanted to know about him and his past and who he ends up with. Alexander is a male siren, a very powerful one at that. He needs to have sex to keep himself alive. Now that Cassius has declared that Alex and Mason have to take mates, Alex has reluctantly stepped up to delay […]
